Undoubtedly one of the most remarkable and cutting-edge yachts of our time, few boats have captured hearts like Athos.

​In 2022, during an extensive refit at Royal Huisman, 3DT Solutions teamed up with BM Composites Mallorca to design a complete set of deck hatches. Crafted from carbon fiber, these hatches were engineered to reduce weight while increasing stiffness and improving the seal quality. The use of carbon fiber also eliminated any risk of corrosion, ensuring long-term durability.

​To create the perfect fit, the original deck apertures and surrounding areas were precisely 3D scanned. The new hatches were then meticulously designed in 3D to match these scanned measurements, preserving the deck’s natural camber across the hatch lids. Every detail was carefully considered, from the positioning of the hardware to the final fit, ensuring flawless functionality and a perfect seal—no leaks, no compromise.
