While the practical benefits of a canvas bimini on a sailing yacht are undeniable, a composite hardtop takes the experience to a whole new level. It doesn’t just enhance the yacht’s appearance—it transforms the entire living experience for both guests and crew. A well-designed hardtop extends the interior space outdoors, significantly boosting comfort and enjoyment in all seasons. That’s why S/Y Hevea required two: one over the cockpit to create a more spacious living area, and another over the helm for protection from the elements.

​Styled by Nauta Design in Italy, with project ownership and production by BM Composites, 3DT was entrusted with the technical and tooling design of this ambitious project. The main bimini was far from ordinary—it featured drop-down hatches to house roll-up protection screens, a glass windscreen with an opening window, and a removable fabric cover that reflected the owner’s love for classic cars with fabric roofs.
