Wally Love, also known as Y3K, is celebrated by many as a true masterpiece of Wally Yachts and German Frers Design. Any work performed on such an iconic, race-winner must meet the highest standards of excellence.

​In 2019, it was time for a complete overhaul of the jib and mainsheet systems, including significant structural modifications to the supporting structures. Simultaneously, a full reconstruction of the aft deck was undertaken, which included the addition of a custom glass companionway hatch.

​Working from precise 3D scans of the existing aft deck and structure, 3DT collaborated closely with both BM Composites and Gurit Engineering to create detailed 3D models of all deck surfaces and structures. The new companionway hatch was a fully custom design, requiring meticulous precision to integrate seamlessly into the redesigned deck.

​In addition to providing in-depth design support and 3D modeling, 3DT was responsible for creating all the tooling files for the required parts and played an integral role in every stage of production and installation, from start to finish.
